Star Cool Roadshow – Showcasing the Second Life of Star Cool Reefers
With half a million units sold, Star Cool has firmly established itself as one of the most widely adopted brands in the reefer container market. After nearly two decades of operation, Star Cool units are now entering the resale market, bringing their proven reliability and performance to new applications.
The Star Cool Roadshow aims to increase awareness of the high-performance Star Cool Units, focusing on their second lifecycle, specifically in domestic cold storage. Recognizing the growing need for secondhand reefers, Maersk Container Industry (MCI) launched the Star Cool Roadshow to highlight the advantages these units bring to the resale market. With many Star Cool reefers reaching their optimal “second life” phase, the brand is now set to become a solid choice for businesses seeking cost-effective cold storage solutions.
This event series offers insights into MCI’s operations and showcases Star Cool technology, covering topics from manufacturing and maintenance to spare parts and reuse strategies for the units’ extended lifecycle. Key performance benefits, such as industry-leading energy efficiency, low noise levels, and ease of maintenance, are emphasized to demonstrate the value of Star Cool reefers in their next phase of service.
The roadshow began late this summer, with events in China, Europe, and the United States, attracting around 90 industry participants, including shipping lines, leasing companies, and traders. Held in Qingdao, Shanghai, Hamburg, Rotterdam, Savannah, and Chicago, the gatherings featured knowledge-sharing sessions, hands-on reefer demonstrations, and insightful discussions.
Thanks to positive feedback, MCI plans to expand the Star Cool Roadshow in 2025, with a commitment to “Stay Connected” across the cold chain industry.
