Welcome to our 2nd quarter edition of our Integrated Reefer News in 2024. Again, we are pleased to provide you with a selection of news from MCI.
As we navigate through 2024, innovation, collaboration and sustainability in the reefer container industry remain high on our agenda and so in this edition we provide you with highlights of the key developments that underscore our commitment.
Already starting in January 2025, new US regulations restrict refrigerants with a Global Warming Potential (GWP) more than 700 for domestic usage, impacting the refrigerant R134a – having a GWP value of 1,430. MCI’s Star Cool units, optimized for R513A, (GWP value of 573) are well-prepared for this change. Since mid-2017, all our reefers have been designed to deliver full capacity with R513A, ensuring compliance and sustainability. For the fourth consecutive year, MTT Shipping has placed orders with MCI, highlighting their satisfaction and trust in our products. Since November 2020, MTT Shipping has integrated 100 Star Cool Units and opted for connectivity via Sekstant gateways, enhancing their refrigerated cargo capabilities. Over the last four years, the partnership has expanded with additional units and training sessions, ensuring MTT’s team is adept at utilizing our products. The collaboration has enhanced MTT’s efficiency and sustainability, reflecting our shared commitment to continuous improvement.
In April 2024, our global service team gathered at MCI Qingdao, fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration between colleagues from all over the world. The team reviewed production processes, welcomed new members, and received updates on the latest products and features. This meeting underscores our commitment to providing exceptional service support and keeping our teams well-informed and skilled.
