First step for a more intelligent fresh air method with AV+ is to determine the appropriate CO2 limit. If you are unsure about the optimum level, select a "safe" low level of 1% CO2 max to closely replicate the ambient atmosphere. The majority of energy savings will be achieved with this CO2 level.

To optimize the advantages of the AV+ system and also achieve enhanced produce preservation, you need to select the optimal max CO2 settings. Because this requires extensive produce knowledge and experience, MCI enlisted the assistance of UC Davis to look into several of the most common types of produce. The results of this study have been condensed into the following general settings list for guidance.
